I read Wanted, the graphic novel by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones, and I'm anxious to see how it's translated onto the big screen. So far the trailers and clips released promoting the film version of Wanted don't much resemble the graphic novel panels. However it might be that Universal and director Timur Bekmambetov are holding back on revealing the more source material-inspired clips. Or maybe the theatrical take is only 'loosely based' on Millar and Jones' work in which case we'll see some of the same characters from the graphic novel and the rest of it will be an entirely different story. I actually believe that's what will be served up, as members of the cast seem to indicate in interviews that they're playing good guys when that's definitely not the case in the graphic novel. Wanted readers may not get what they wanted, and instead this may simply be a twist on the usual action adventure film with sci-fi elements and two appealingly attractive stars - Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy.
Synopsis: 25-year-old Wes (McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing.
