Cheapest car to source components from world’s fastest car maker

No, the Tatas haven’t joined hands with Volkswagen, but Caparo Engineering, the makers of the T1 – arguably the world’s fastest, but without doubt the most extreme road-legal car – will contribute towards the Nano’s production.

No, not that kind of fantasy, but they’ve just engineered a Lotus that can travel underwater, just like car in the James Bond movie, The Spy who Loved me. They’ve even made it white! The Elise they’ve chosen differs from the movie’s Espirit in two major ways: it’s a convertible, and it is driven by three electric motors. On land, one motor drives the rear wheels, and the other two drive the screw that propels it on water, or under its surface.

Honda Siel Cars India today launched 2.0L 2WD CRV. The 1997cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine in new CRV version delivers maximum power of 143ps@6000 rpm and torque of 190Nm@4200 rpm. Apart from engine other major changes are lack of four-wheel-drive system, electric sunroof and six-CD-changer (has single CD/MP3 player).

New CRV 2.0 2WD costs Rs.17,67,700, ex-showroom Mumbai.
