Pirates Could Crack the Vista Copy Protection

Pirate group Pantheon has just released a crack for a pirated, non-activated installation of Visa. With this crack this Vista copy protection is activated and becomes totally operational.


This Version of Vista (Home Basic/Premium and Ultimate) activates without going to Microsoft for verification. Instead, the licensing components “include the OEM’s hardware-embedded BIOS ACPI_SLIC (which has been signed by Microsoft), an XML certificate file which corresponds to this ACPI_SLIC and a specific OEM product key”.









The thing that this pirate group is releasing is a bundle of certificate files from different laptop makers along with OEM product keys for all sorts of Vista and an emulator. The software uses System-Locked Pre-Installation 2.0, and allows OEMs BIOS driver files (signed by Microsoft) for any manufacturer to be installed without the system running that particular hardware, and passes all the Windows Genuine Advantage checks. Means you are able to install the ASUS, Dell, and HP or Lenovo certificate information on any machine.

With this crack the Vista Copy Protection scheme has no meaning anymore!
